Russellville, AR.

Hello again:

Once again we are on the road traveling west. The scenery is very pretty. It is is very flat at first but then it turns into hills like we have in New Jersey. Later the scenery will once again turn back into curvy hilly roads and I mean curvy. The temp drops 10 degrees as we go into the mountains.

Our interesting event today was lunch. While traveling through the town of Yellville, Ar on Rt 62 we passed, then turned around and came back to an interesting roadside restaurant. It is called the Front Porch. This nice eatery is owned and operated by a lady who was a biker herself when her husband was alive. She was into her 70's and very fit. She is operating this restaurant by herself. We spend some time chatting with her, a very interesting person. The food was very good and cost only $7.00 each for a hot buffet dinner with dessert and salad bar.

We are now at a Holiday Inn tonight in Russellville, Ar. We are too tired to go out for dinner so we had a large salad with grilled chicken here in our room. The hotel had to make it up special for us. Chriss made a comment about how nice the desk clerks were while he was checking in. Old men and young women I tell him. It's true, everyone treated us so well.

Now we are ready to go to sleep. I will write more tomorrow. Our plan is to go to Hot Springs, Ar. in the morning. That is if it doesn't rain. However rain is predicted, so we will see. We have been chased by the rain during all of our trip. So far we have been lucky and stayed dry. Tomorrow we may be held up here for a while. In the morning we will tape up our knees again as our armor pads in our motorcycle riding pants are rubbing blisters on our knees. We are traveling so well on the bike. Chriss always ask me if "I am ok, and do I want to continue with our trip?" I tell him "of course I want to continue, I am having fun." He say he is too!!
Good night for now,
Carol & Chriss
